US equities extended their rally as optimism around a potential Middle East peace deal continued to build, with the S&P 500 closing at a fresh record high and the Nasdaq again leading gains. The Dow rose 1.71% to 54,085, the S&P 500 gained 1.79% to 7,736, and the Nasdaq climbed 2.59% to 26,584.

Oil stayed under heavy pressure on reports of progress in US-Iran talks. Brent fell 5.99% to $78.75, while WTI dropped 5.69% to $75.77.
